Welcome to 1st Erith Scout Group
Part of Bexley District Scouts • Serving our community since 1914
Welcome to 1st Erith Scout Group! We’re a friendly, inclusive family of Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers—and their leaders—working together to learn new skills, make lifelong friends, and explore the great outdoors.
Our Story
- 1914
The very first 1st Erith (Slade Green) Troop was formed on the eve of World War I, bringing together local young people eager to serve and grow. - 1939–1945
Activities paused during the Second World War, though unofficial gatherings kept the spirit of Scouting alive in Slade Green throughout the 1940s. - 1950
Under the leadership of Jack Edwards, 1st Erith Scout Group formally re-launched in our current Barnehurst hall, laying the foundations for the thriving community you see today.
